| At Oadby take a stroll around
the fascinating University of Leicester Botanical Gardens; 16 acres of
gardens and greenhouses featuring a herb garden, woodland, tropical plants
and several national collections. More walks can be had at nearby Brocks Hill Country Park, which features a completely self-sufficient Environment Centre. 67 acres of newly planted woodland, ponds and meadows are waiting to be explored. At neighbouring Wigston, the Framework Knitters’ Museum is set in a former workshop; a time capsule of the knitting industry and a legacy of Leicestershire’s textile industry.
